Date formats

The date format can be selected from the User settings by selecting Organisation from the Homepage. The following formats are available:

1 February 1970

Feb 1 1970

1/2/1970

2/1/1970

01/02/1970

01.02.1970

02/01/1970

Time formats

The time format varies between use cases. General times can be expressed in 24:00 format or 12:00 AM/PM format. The user can set the general time format in the User settings. However, many timings - especially in the train editor - are in a standardised hh:mm:ss format. Other times are expressed in other formats.

Timezone

Actual data is recieved in UTC and then converted for visualisation. For other timestamps, the timezone from the browser's settings is applied.

Language

Language can be selected from the User settings. Available languages are:

  • English
  • Italian
  • Kartuli

Measurement system

The normal measurement system is SI units. However some lengths and speeds can be expressed in miles or miles per hour. We do not guarantee full conversion into imperial units.

The unit of measurement for user-defined values is indicated on the field label.

Colours

A set of > 100 predefined colours is available for selection.

Geographic Coordinates

Geographic coordinates are expressed in decimal degrees for latitude and longitude in the WGS84 standard.

Decimal seperator

User-defined values can use commas or dots as decimal separators. The programme uses trenoLive’s language setting to determine the decimal separator and the thousands separator. English uses dots for decimals (e.g. 87.5%) and commas for thousands (e.g. 101,536 km), while the Italian setting uses the opposite. For user-defined values, thousands separators are not accepted. In cases where high numbers are commonly inserted, for example for railway line locations, distances (“mileage”) or train weight, the value is defined in pure positive numbers.

If data is read-only, trenoLive displays data with the thousands separator determined by the language setting in trenoLive.
