Rolling Stock
The rolling stock is organised in the Project details in two different tabs, the Trainsets and the Trainset Parts.
Trainsets take the name of the full composition working a train run or part of a train run. Trainset Parts are the physical vehicles which can not be seperated in daily operation. Different types of trainset parts can be defined, for example:
- Locomotives
- Passenger wagons
- Multiple units
- Freight wagons
Trainsets consist of one or more Trainset Parts. For example a double composition of three multiple units coupled together is one Trainset that consists of three trainset parts. A freight train trainset could consist of two locomotives and a freight wagon trailer or one locomotive and a freight wagon trailer.
The correct definition of trainsets and trainset part is essential for the use of the Unit diagrams function and the effective creation of connections between train runs in the Track occupation diagram.
Trainset characteristics for RTC and simulation
In some cases the name and code of a trainset defined in trenoLive should have different characteristics than the one in trenissimo. It is possible to adjust the characteristics in trenissimo with information saved in trenoLive. A more in-depth explanation of trainset informations including an example is provided in the path segments page of this manual
If these trainset information adjustments are used, the running time calculation and the simulation are influenced. Normally, the trainset data should correspond between trenoLive and trenissimo.
Be aware that for the RTC always and only the trainset information of the train group is relevant. Eventual manually inserted train overrides for trains in a group are not considered. The running times for all trains of a train group are always the same.
