Collections
There are two types of collections available. Collections defined for the scenario and identical for all users and User Collections, which can be different for each user. The collections can command the visualisation in the graphic timetable, either by modifying the stroke pattern and width or by deactivating "Show" the visualisation completely. All train matching the criteria set in the collection window will be visualised according to these settings.
Trains not matching any criteria for a defined collection are sorted into a "Default collection", which is visualised with standard visualisation settings.
Trains are sorted in a collection if they satisfy the citeria specified in the collection setup. The filters are:
- Station (OCP)
- Corridor - at least one edge used by the train is part of the corridor
- Train category
- TOC
- Operating Calendar
- Departure date
- Run date
- Train code
- Train group code
- Tags
If a train satify criteria for two or more collections defined in a scenario, the train will be put in both collections. Depending on which collection gets activated, the trains are shown or not. The order in which the collections get activated impacts the visualisation options applied, with the latter collection winning.
Scenario Collections
Scenario Collections are defined for the scenario and therefore can be used by all users.
User Collections
User Collections instead are defined for the scenario and each user individually, so that the visualisations of other users are not impacted.
How to use collections to draft timetable alternatives
To effectivly draft timetable alternatives collections can be helpful. If two alternative paths are planned they should both be tagged with two different tags. Then two scenario collections can be set up using the tag as filter criteria. By activating one or the other collection it is possible to control the visualisation of alternatives in the timetable graph.
Missing functions: conflict checker ignoring collections, track occupation with intelligent collection filter.
