Capacity Restrictions in TrenoLive

Permananent capacity restrictions (valid for >1 year or longer than the timetable period) can be included in the infrastructure model. Planned capacity restrictions with shorter validity are planned and handeled as TCR (Temporary Capacity Restrictions), while unplanned capacity restrictions are handled as Incidents.

Temporary Capacity Restrictions

Temporary Capacity Restrictions (TCR) in TrenoLive encompass 4 different types:

  • Possessions
  • Temporary Speed Restrictions (TSR)
  • Axle load limitations
  • Train length limitations

Possessions and TSRs can be defined for lines or station tracks. It is possible to group together different TCRs into a single maintenance measure and limit them to different periods of validity.

All TCR on lines can be visualised in the Graphic timetable by activating the TCR types in the settings of the graphic timetable. A double-click on the info label in the left upper corner of the TCR visualisation opens a pop-up window showing additional information on the TCR element. Further, it is possible to access directly the TCR editor from there. TCR on station tracks can be visualised in the track occupation diagram.

By selecting the "Possession on station track" and "Possession on line track" options in the conflict checker it is possible to detect conflicts between planned trains and possessions.

Incidents

Incidents are disruptive events occurring unexpected during the day of operation. They can provoke Possessions and Speed restrictions as well as a "Generic Incident" for visualisation in the graphic timetable. Different types of incidents are available and they can be traced by their Name, ID or Incident cause codification. An incident can have an unknown duration.
