Service Code

The service code is a Custom Property of the path segment. The values can be predefined in the Scenario. It is also possible to insert a free text and save. The service code can be assigned in the train editor for single trains and variants and in the train group editor for train groups. The editing of the service code for train group courses is deactivated in the train editor, but the information inherited from the train group is visualised. The service code can remain empty and is not an obbligatory element, therefore not yet assigned during the train creation, but only afterwards.

The service code is exported to trenissimo and can be used to structure the simulation (by using train matchers in trenissimo).

Service Code UK

In the UK the Train Service Code is an assigned 8-digit classification system for train services and their contracting. The list of service codes is automatically imported with the CIF import. To new train paths a preexisting service code can be assigned by selecting it from the list in the path segments.

The UK service code is also structured in service groups. The classification of a service code into a service group is managed in the Scenarios, and a free text service code can not be grouped in service groups.

Service Code for other uses

In other use cases the Service Code can express the Line denomination, such as S4, RE6 or Yellow Line. If necessary, it can contain the direction, too. For example: R4_westbound, S21-Down.
