Headway margin violations
Headway margin violations
Headway margin violations are a macroscopic conflict based on user-defined thresholds for planned headways. The conflict checker checks for each section between two OCP, if the following train stays outside a certain threshold to ensure robustness and avoid knock-on delays. In contrast to the microscopic conflict checker it is not relying on the individual blocking times of microscopic infrastructure elements.
The headway margin is defined for each edge in seconds. It is possible to define thresholds for a line section and for more than one Line track, but is always checked for each individual edge. If the threshold is defined from A to C on Up and Down Line tracks, the checks will be performed for A-B/Up, A-B/Down, B-C/Up and B-C/Down.
Trains in opposite directions, running on the same edge (e.g. on single track lines), will be considered by this conflict checker.
